![]() ![]() Might try to finish the game because I’m so close to doing so, but I don’t think I will bother with doing the other two character’s stories because the reasons stated above were enough to keep me uninterested in further replays.Īgain, what it does great, is VERY great. It’s not as much of an annoyance as the stuff I mentioned in the previous paragraph, but it’s disappointing in the sense that the premise is interesting, but the underwhelming performances and overdramatic tone it takes at times makes it unenjoyable. ![]() The voice acting is awkward, and the dialogue that accompanies it feeling something out of Sonic X at times. The level design gets worse as a result, with a lot of abrupt walls being placed in the middle of your path in order to tell you to go back or that you’re missing something, or just random gaps that if you fall through them, you have to go through long portions of level that you already went through, again I know that last one also happens in Sonic games, but at least with those its over a short portion of the stage, and a decent amount of times they lead to alternate routes.Īnd the story, it’s just bad. Whether it’s to turn on a switch, then backtracking to where you previously were, or bosses that have way too much health and have a lot of movement/attack options whereas you’re characters literally only have a jump spin/kick, it’s not fun. Is it trying to be like Sonic? Like a Metroidvania? Like Gunstar Heroes? It succeeds in being like a Sonic game, but for the latter two, the implementation of similar gameplay elements really interrupts the fast platforming. Or themes that are so energetic they almost sound like something from Falcom JDK:Īs for the ehhhh, the first thing that’s been annoying me is: this game honestly feels like it doesn’t know what it wants to be at times. The music never failed to impress either, with some songs having adventurous beats like those you would see in a Sonic game: The world is so colorful and detailed, taking inspiration from a wide variety of environments for its stages, nothing ever felt bland or even close to it. Not only does it replicate this feeling, but it improves it as well with special moves, directional boosts, and double jumps, and everything is so fun. The physics, the movement, the speed, it all feels so reminiscent of a 2D Sonic game and from the first minute I knew what to do. To talk about the good first, the way it plays is, actually amazing. And it really feels like such a weird game, it’s so hard to put my thoughts together on it because of how much I both am enjoying it and also not enjoying it. Curiously, the version update page seen on Steam has the spelling of the BFF-2000 without the hyphen (BFF2000).Finally getting back to this game after stopping halfway through last year.Sometimes at the end of stages, the Star Card may be positioned too low, making it impossible to acquire it and leaving a stage incomplete to clear. Its power can deliver heavy damage to many enemies and bosses. Via hacking, it is possible to play as the BFF-2000 outside of its intended stages. The BFF-2000 is likely based on the Megazords featured in the Power Rangers multimedia franchise, due to also being a large mech made up of smaller mechs, as Megazords are made up of at least 3 - 5 Zords. The BFF-2000 is one of the three largest bosses that can be fought in Freedom Planet 2, the others being Crabulon and Serpentine's Titan Armor.- Fixed an issue where a checkpoint pop-up would appear after completing Auditorium.- BFF2000's HP has been reduced from 320 to 280.- The active time of BFF2000's dash laser has been reduced by 30 frames.- BFF2000's body now deals damage during its lance attack.- BFF2000's rival holograms now deal damage to the player as intended.Take control of the BFF-2000 and battle through an army of enemy robots.Īfter being defeated for the first time, a replica of the BFF-2000 can be built and be displayed in a Gallery Exhibit at the Avian Museum.Īs of version 1.2.3r, the following changes to the BFF-2000 have occurred, having been noted on the Auditorium fight: Take control of the BFF-2000 during the Titan Armor Rematch.Fight the BFF-2000 in the same way as in the Auditorium. ![]()
